Onki Korean Restaurant is a must-visit! Their Gamjatang Jeongol is absolutely delicious. They use high-quality pork, and the broth has such a deep, rich, and satisfying flavor. The Haemooljang was also incredibly fresh. The crab meat practically melts in your mouth, and the marinated sauce is packed with flavor and perfectly complements the seafood. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Tucked away in Torrance is the first U.S. location from Chef Lee Won-il, and it's already legit. I stumbled across it after catching that dreamy sunset over PV—my friend and I were absolutely starving, and this randomly popped up on my feed. Did a quick deep dive and realized this spot is actually a huge deal in Korea (think reservation-only waitlists) Rolled in and the place was completely packed—with a solid crowd of Korean diners, which is always a good sign. Figured we were in good hands. 🥘 Gamjatang This massive golden pot came out still bubbling and piled high with meat and veggies. Pro tip: you absolutely have to add the fried rice with cheese. Server came over and stir-fried it right in the leftover broth, melted on the cheese, and topped it with crispy seaweed. That first bite? Pure comfort food heaven. 🦀 Haemoojang (Marinated Seafood Platter) Snagged this for only $39—an absolute steal. It came loaded with marinated crab, scallops, and shrimp. Super fresh. This restaurant is amazing. My friend and I both loved it. We ordered the soy marinated seafood platter and it was so good. It got a lot of crabs, shrimps, and scallops. The pork backbone soup was huge. The soup was good with a little bit spicy. We got the grill pork jowl and the Wagyu patties too. The service was great and good place to hang out with friends.

Really enjoyed our meal at ONKI! It’s a new Korean restaurant in Torrance by celebrity chef Lee Won-il, and apparently his first restaurant in the U.S. Our favorite was the Gamjatang Jeongol. They use Mugifuji Pork, and the pork backbone was incredibly tender and came off the bone easily. Even the smaller size had a generous amount of meat. Definitely recommend adding the fried rice at the end—they make it directly in the pot with the remaining broth, and it was probably my favorite way to finish the meal. The Haemooljang was another highlight. For $39, you get soy-marinated crab, scallops, and shrimp all on one platter. Everything was flavorful without being overly salty, and the leftover sauce was so good mixed with rice. We also tried the Hangjung Sooyook, which was pork jowl served with cilantro chimichurri. I liked that it felt a little more modern and refreshing than traditional boiled pork. The Egg Fried Rice was simple but very fragrant and a good non-spicy option. Overall, the menu isn’t huge, but everything we ordered felt thoughtfully done and portions were generous. Really nice to see a Korean restaurant like this opening in the South Bay instead of Ktown for once.

Onki just opened in Torrance, and it’s worth the drive. Two must-orders: the Gamjatang Jeongol (pork bone hot pot), served in a super cool gold pot. Get the fried rice at the end, made tableside with the leftover broth. Classic Korean move and the best bite of the meal. And the Haemoojang, a soy-marinated seafood platter (crab, scallops, shrimp) that’s great value, mix rice into the leftover sauce once the seafood’s gone. Service was great, and the inside has a really cool vibe. Feels good for a casual lunch, a proper dinner, or grabbing drinks with friends (they’ve got beer and soju too). Solid spot for pretty much any occasion.
